We are currently seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer/Manager who will be responsible for overseeing our procurement process and ensuring that we have the necessary supplies and equipment to meet our business needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing vendor relationships. In addition, the candidate will ensure that all purchasing activities are carried out in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify suppliers: Conduct thorough research to identify potential suppliers that meet our business requirements. Evaluate supplier capabilities, performance, and pricing to ensure that we select the most suitable suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts: Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure that we get the best value for our investment. Review contracts to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Purchase goods and services: Place orders for goods and services as required by the business. Monitor delivery times and work with suppliers to ensure timely and quality delivery of goods and services.
- Manage vendor relationships: Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers. Proactively address any issues or concerns and work with suppliers to resolve them.
- Develop and maintain purchasing policies and procedures: Ensure that all purchasing activities comply with company policies and procedures. Develop and maintain a comprehensive purchasing manual that outlines the steps and processes for purchasing goods and services.
- Analyze spending: Analyze spending patterns and identify areas where cost savings can be achieved. Develop and implement cost reduction strategies to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of purchasing activities.
- Provide reports: Provide regular reports on purchasing activities to senior management. Ensure that all reports are accurate and delivered on time.
Job Specification:
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field is required. A master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience: At least 2-3 years of relevant work experience in purchasing, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Knowledge and Skills:
• Strong understanding of purchasing principles and practices.
• Knowledge of the automotive industry and related products and services.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with suppliers, employees, and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
