Global Procurement Specialist
Job Purpose:
To coordinate with suppliers as well as the plant teams in Asia, EU and Middle East and ensure timely ordering / receipt / optimum inventory management, regular trouble shooting, coordination with finance and logistics, customs clearance / ports / inspection agencies coordination, handling of external and ensure that our plants obtain quality products at competitive prices in a timely fashion. To play an integral role in ensuring that the RM department sticks to budgets and profitability including strategic procurement, supplier selection and discover the best ways to cut procurement expenses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Optimum inventory management at all plants across Asia, Europe and Middle East.
- Orders finalization / placement, shipment scheduling / monitoring and logistics management to ensure timely receipt of various shipments with optimum tank utilization at various plants.
- Monitoring the entire buying cycle and minimize / avoid any likely extra cost such as demurrage.
- External coordination with all the plants, suppliers, terminals, inspection agencies to ensure smooth plants operations at optimum cost.
- Internal coordination with Finance, Logistics and other departments on regular basis for each and every order / shipment / payment.
- Develop the relationship with the existing suppliers and evaluate supplier’s performance (price, delivery, quality and service) including sourcing new potential suppliers at all regions.
- Resolve supply, quality, service and invoicing issues with suppliers in coordination with the plants on regular basis.
- Assist in ISO audit at plants and also conduct Annual Performance Review of various suppliers based on quality standards, delivery time & best prices and ensure all the criteria are met according to the organizational requirements and expectations.
- Undertake various other ad-hoc assignments given by VP Procurement and Procurement manager from time to time.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor / Master Degree, Major of Engineering, International Trade, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or other related fields
- At least 5 years of professional experience with adequate knowledge & skills and excellent work quality
- Possess full understanding of petrochemical market and procurement process.
- Having good experience in coordination and negotiation with suppliers is a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office and email correspondence
- Fluent in English (listening, speaking, reading and writing) TOEIC 700+ is preferable.
- Exposure to SAP system or other ERP will be a plus
- Hard working, problem solving, proactive and able to work under pressure
- Service mind with good attitude
